Portronics POR 141 Portable FM Radio Speaker Review on Amazon shows that it is amazing product, so many positive reviews and hence I bought it, but looks like these reviews are bought by this company and are fake !!

The product does not meet my expectations I felt like cheated by the fake reviews, hence this independent review to tell you goods and bad of the product and obviously I bought some other product, which is from Philips BT64B giving me immense listening pleasure 🙂 So I would recommend you to go for that one (remember both products are used by me at least for 6 months before writing this review)

Portronics POR 141 Vs Philips BT64 Portable FM Radio Speaker review & Comparison

Just looking at above technical specifications comparison you can easily understand that for slight premium of ~200 Rs you will be getting a Bluetooth enabled FM Radio speaker from a brand like Philips which a company like Portronics can never ever be compared !! Also the sound quality of Philips is great compared to the Portronics.

Sound Quality:

Portronics sound quality is bad, speaker vibrates and sound tears off on higher volume range. Mediocre sound quality.

Philips behaves well, no issues, clear nostalgic radio sound 🙂 Excellent crystal clear vocals.

FM Radio reception:

Portronics FM radio reception is bad, I need to locate it near window to get good range, else songs gets hissing sound always.

Philips FM radio has better reception and need not find for locations (of course you can not keep it hidden below the bed! but overall I need not think before putting it down anywhere in my home)

FM Channels Autoscan and storing

I tried on my Portronics FM radio to auto scan and store the radio stations, but invain, I need to manually goto next FM frequency to switch the station ! what’s the use ?

Philips is perfectly fine, no need to search and tune radio stations manually each time, its one time job indeed

Connection to the computer:

Portronics says in advertisement that I can connect it to laptop and copy songs to memory card, but practically it does not detect on my PC or laptop, so I need to copy songs separately by removal of memory card from radio.

Battery:

Both FM Radios feature Li ion battery pack and has no issues so far, good for hours of music time, FM playtime.

Bluetooth connectivity:

Philips has edge over Portronics by providing Bluetooth connectivity too, which is very important, you can easily connect your mobile to play music of your choice, it acts like a portable Bluetooth speaker. Portronics does not have Bluetooth at all.

My final recommendation is to go with Phlilips

Looking at al above aspects … Better to buy Trusted brand like Philips which delivers what it says 🙂 with better sound quality, so I recommend going for Philips BT64B Portable Bluetooth Speakers
