I have reviewed Dr. Copper, Prestige tattva copper bottle, Milton copper bottle, Divine Copper Bottle and Non Branded copper bottle hence to compare the Branded Vs non-branded copper bottles.

Why I wanted to buy 100% Pure Copper Bottle?

After I went through Covid19 I decided to focus on my own immunity improvement. So as a part of that I focused on Food (Organic vegetables), Water (Copper), Air (Pranayam), Body (Yogasana), Mind (Dhyan)

How to select BEST Copper Bottle?

1. Bottle should be made of PURE Copper
   Pure Copper costs 850 Rs/kg (May 2021)
   Avg Seamless bottle+cap weighs 300 grams – Raw material cost ~ 255 Rs + making cost (~45) = 300 Rs
2. Bottle should be seamless (without any joints)
   Cheap bottles may have joints with harmful lead contents used during welding
3. Cap design
   Due to limitation of threading on pure copper threading is made coarse – so choose a bottle for which cap removal and fitment is easy
4. Leak proof – Bottle threading & cap design (Inside or Outside threading + Plastic insert)

What are the typical issues faced in copper bottles?

Typically copper bottles have following issues –

1. Inside and outside rusting
   Please note that this rusting is naturally caused due to copper reaction with oxygen in air + moisture – so this forms copper oxide which looks like Black colour. So this is not a rusting. You can easily clean it up using method given in this post.
2. Crack
   Copper is a ductile material so it may crack due to manufacturing defect like micro cracks gets developed during draw operation.
   Another reason is keeping copper bottle in deep fridge with water filled, forms ice which expands in volume – copper being ductile will not be able to sustain the pressure hence will crack. Hence never keep copper bottles in deep fridge.
3. Leakage
   This is common issue and you must check the bottle for leakage as soon as you receive it.
   I bought Dr. Copper bottle for this review from Amazon and found that it is leaking. So being best brand I saw that Dr copper have many customer complaints for leakage. so be careful.
   Bottles with Plastic insert in cap are preferable to prevent leakage.
4. Damage
   Copper being ductile tends to get damaged easily. They are not as sturdy as steel bottles. hence you need to take extra precaution while handling these copper bottles.

My copper bottle test results

I tested Dr copper bottle with all other bottles like Prestige tattva, Milton, Divine as well as non branded copper bottle for leakage and outside rusting

Copper bottle leakage test

Dr. Copper bottle failed leakage test – leakage found from the cap even after tightening.

All other bottles Prestige tattva, Milton, Divine as well as non branded copper bottles passed the leakage test without any issues.

Copper bottle outside rusting test

Dr. Copper bottle, Prestige tattva, Milton, Divine copper bottles have outside lacquer coating which prevents the rusting and finger prints creation on outer surface. All these bottles passed the outside rusting test. They did not rust with continuous moisture on them for 24 hours. (see video for details)

Non branded copper bottle did not have any lacquer coating on outside surface, hence it got rusted heavily in my 24 hours moisture test.

My copper bottle Recommendation

In terms of my test results and personal recommendation –

Dr. Copper bottle leaked – so not preferable

Prestige tattva bottle is good, however the cap has less height and hence while tightening or loosening the sharp edges cut my fingers – so not preferable

Milton bottle was good in all respects – only one hitch is there that mostly this is Made in China and marketed by Milton – so I do not prefer it (same case is true for Cello copper bottle)

Divine copper bottle – have big mouth cap which is easy to open and close. Big dia allows easy cleaning. Also it is Made in INDIA as well as they export to 20 countries. so this will be my choice as made in India best copper bottle.

Non branded copper bottles – I will not prefer due to the fact that cost of bottle does not allow selling it for 350 Rs (which means copper will not be pure)

How to Clean Pure Copper Bottle from Inside & Outside?

Cleaning Frequency – Twice a week

Inside Cleaning –

1. Put mixture of Lime or Vinegar or tamarind + Salt + Hot water and shake well
2. 2.Keep for half an hour
3. 3.Rinse well in normal water

Outside cleaning –

1. Clean with normal water and soft cloth
2. Do not use scrubber since it will remove the Lacquer coating
