As the Winter chill began troubling my mother, I decided to search for options to keep hot water for long hours, so that she need not do it again and again using electricity or gas. Presently I have good quality 1 Liter Vaccum flasks for her (2 numbers), however she needs to fill them again in a day, so I searched for higher capacity insulated water storage.

I found branded product named “Milton Thermosteel Stellar 10 – Insulated Water Jug” on internet which I felt is appropriate option at the given price.

However I gave rating of 1 Star on Amazon due to the following Bad points in Milton Stellar :

• Basic function not met : Cant keep water hot!
  

  Hot water becomes almost cold in 6~7 hours only !! In fact gradient of water becoming cool is high than expected due to poor insulation.
  I kept same amount of water in big utensil which was just covered with plate and the gradient of temperature drop as almost same as that kept in this so called insulated water jug.
  Showing that the insulation is not that effective and there is something wrong in the design intent. I expect water to remain warm at least twice the time if its kept in an open utensil ! fair expectation na?

• Folding type of Legs : Unstable after loading 10 L water

  Design of legs is such that they can be folded if not required, concept wise this is good to save space and facilitate height increase when required.
  However unfortunately these legs not stable, in case this gets impact accidentally by hand or children legs they get folded on their own.
  Design wise they should have provided a LOCK to the legs, but here Milton design engineers are assuming that the legs will get locked by weight of Jug and water inside! but as the water level reduces … it becomes more unstable … and by common sense one should have simple lockable lugs!

• Water Tap : Ordinary Quality

  Water tap quality is not that good, it keep on dripping in case you do not close it properly, you need to remember to close it fully, water tap does not return to fully closed condition naturally,
  Now that I remember and keep it properly closed after use ! but not a good design, again saving few rupees Milton has failed at this front too!

Update Jan 2017: Contacted their customer care but no use!

I contacted Milton main office and could talk to their customer care executive, he went through my review on trekbook and said that all claims are not correct and their product is good product !

I told him that I can demonstrate all the issues to him for which he should meet me in person or any representative from Milton can visit my home or I can goto their authorized center to show issues. However he keep on insisting that their products are good and there are no complaints of such type hence it is my mistake or misunderstanding about their product !!! Inspite of my information that I work in R&D for so many year and fully aware on how product can be tested and reviewed, he was insistent and finally closed call asking to return the product at my expenses!!!

So I do not recommend to go to such company with such attitude. as on date 6 April 2018 the product is lying with me with no use !!

Conclusion and Final Recommendation :

I am surprised to see such poor functional product from Brand like Milton,
