Data carry forward also need to be considered while finalizing the plan selection. So to find out which plan is better and value for money I have prepared a simple plan comparison table.
Update as on 11 Dec 2019 – Good news from Relience Jio
Reliance Jio latest announcement of two new packs for its prepaid users.

Please note that although BSNL have good prepaid voice and data plan of ONLY 429 Rs consisting 90 GB data along with unlimited calls for 90 days all across the country except Kerala. However here in this post we are talking about the price hike by Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea companies hence BSNL plans are not included in this table.
Reliance Jio vs Airtel vs Vodafone Idea | New Recharge Plans Comparison Table 2019-2020
The recharge and top-up plans available from these three telecom operators are almost same in terms of its validity period, that is, monthly, three-month basis and yearly, so comparison table becomes quite simple to understand and compare.

1 Month (28 days) | 2 GB for 28 days | 98 (unlimited voice calls) | – | – |
24 Days | 1 GB / Day | 149 (FUP limit to other networks 300 mins) | – | – |

12 Months (365 Days) | 1.5 GB / Day | 2199 | 2398 | 1499 (24 GB) |
From the above table you can see that all three major telecom companies have increased their prepaid plan rates in the range of around 15 to 47% which is too high and no-one is there to question them is my problem.
Airtel tariff raise is around 50% Vs Vodafone Idea hike is around 42% Vs Reliance Jio increased the rates by up to 40%
There is sudden hike in tariff by all companies in their prepaid plans! Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio which is a kind of shock to the customers who are now addicted to use of high data.
Jio have introduced a brand new plan which offers 300% more benefits if you select their ‘All-in-One’ plans, but again that includes this price hike.
Although I have summed up all plans in my prepaid plan comparison, I am giving each plan in details, so that final selection becomes easy.

So while you select the operator do not forget to look at add-on benefits like above.
Airtel NEW prepaid plans
248 Rs monthly plan: 28 days
For this plan, Airtel has clubbed two plans of 169 Rs and 199 Rs into this one. This new plan gives you unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and 1.5 GB of data every day for 28 days.
298 Rs monthly plan: 28 days
Surging the price of this plan from 249 Rs, this new plan offers unlimited calls, 100 SMS and 2 GB data per day with a validity of 28 days.
598 Rs three-month plan: 84 days
Unlimited calls with 1.5 GB data and 100 SMS per day for 84 days.
698 Rs three-month plan: 84 days
Unlimited calls with 2 GB data and 100 SMS per day and carries a validity of 84 days.
2,398 Rs yearly plan: 365 days
Many customers go for yearly plan since it provides benefits as well as you need not worry about recharge each month.
However Airtel’s yearly plans, have seen highest price increase of around 699 Rs.
So the old 1699 Rs per year plan will now cost 2398 Rs with the same benefits!! Which means you get unlimited calling with 1.5 GB data and 100 SMS per day for 365 days.
Additional benefits to Airtel customers
The yearly plan provides access to Airtel XStream Premium content, Wynk Music subscription, free Hello Tunes and anti-virus mobile protection.
As said before you finalize which company you wish to continue, provide due consideration to add-on benefits.
Vodafone Idea NEW prepaid plans
249 Rs monthly plan: 28 days
Unlimited Voice (FUP of 1000 mins for off-net calls), 1.5 GB/day of Data, 100 SMS/ day, 28 days validity
399 Rs monthly plan: 28 days
Unlimited voice (FUP of 1000 mins for off-net calls), 3 GB/day of Data, 100 SMS/ day, 28 days validity
379 Rs three-month plan: 84 days
Unlimited Voice (FUP of 3000 mins for off-net calls), 6 GB data, 1000 SMS, 84 days validity
599 Rs three-month plan: 84 days
Unlimited Voice (FUP of 3000 mins for off-net calls), 1.5 GB/day of Data, 100 SMS/day, 84 days validity. The same plan was offered by the telecom for 458 Rs earlier.
Apart from this, there is also a 699 Rs recharge for a validity of 84 days added to the prepaid recharge schemes that provides unlimited voice (FUP of 3000 mins for off-net calls), 2 GB data and 100 SMS
1,499 Rs yearly plan: 365 days
Unlimited Voice (FUP of 12000 mins for off-net calls), 24 GB data, 3600 SMS, 365 days validity.
Again here also Vodafone Idea have increase prices too much … hike of around 500 Rs .. clearly to take advantage of more people going for yearly plan.
Only to show that customers are getting something more, they have increased the data usage limit from 12 GB to 24 GB. However considering that previously you had to pay only 999 Rs per year, here you pay 500 Rs more to get 12 GB! so 42 Rs per GB which is not justifiable at all as per me.
Bottom line
Again main point is in your area which operator provides better network and Data speeds need to be taken into consideration.
As an example, out of all companies BSNL have BEST offers with longest validity and lowest prices. Even everyone knows that BSNL although have largest network coverage (go anywhere and you will get network, even in remote part of India) however glitch is that they do not have good network and most of the time you will get poor voice and data at 2G or at most 3G speeds.
So, if your priority is coverage in remote areas then only go for BSNL.
But if your priority is data speed then BSNL is completely NO.
If you wish to get high-speed internet then go for Jio which is purely 4G or Airtel which has fairly fast and reliable 3G / 4G internet service.
However again in some ares both above companies do not perform well in terms of coverage and then Vodafone Idea comes into picture.
As an example, in many areas in Delhi Vodafone’s 4G works better than Airtel’s OR in Pune Idea network is most powerful in terms of range (you don’t get signal of Airtel inside house but Idea does)
So get on with your budget hike, select plan wisely and reduce your unnecessary want of data with use of social networks (anyway its waste of time and money)
Cheers!!
