Tips :

How to set-up my Modem Router for BSNL or MTNL :
- Switch ON your modem router [Make sure to connect BSNL / MTNL line to IN]
- Open you web browser on laptop or computer [Google Chrome or Firefox or Internet Explorer]
If connecting through laptop switch on WiFi
If connecting through Desktop, connect LAN cable to your modem router - Enter URL “http://192.168.1.1” in the address bar [Press Enter Key]
- It will prompt for Usename + Password.
Use the following credentials
Username: admin
Password: admin - You will be logged in to control panel
- Then Go-to Advanced-Setup and Click Add
- Now Add VPI values as 0
- VCI as 35 for BSNL and 32 for MTNL
- Select DSL Latency : Path 0
- Select DSL Link Type : EoA
- Connection mode : Default
- Encapsulation mdoe : LLC/SNAP – BRIDGING
- Service Category : UBR Without PCR
- Select IP Qos Scheduler Algorithm to Strict Priority and then Save
- Now go to WAN Service and the click Add
- In WAN Service Interface Configuration, Just click Next
- Select “PPP over Ethernet”
- In the next page , you have to set your service provider username and password.
BSNL : Your Username is printed at the top-right corner of monthly bill
It is of the form “yourname STD-CODE PHONENUMBER AREA”
In case BSNL, they keep it as “password” only. Keep rest settings as default. - In Routing default gateway, Just click Next
- In DNS Server Configuration, use some Public DNS servers like OpenDNS or Google DNS.
Select “Use the following Static DNS IP Address” and Add Primary DNS Server: 208.67.222.222 and Add Secondary DNS Server: 208.67.220.220 - Now in WAN Setup : Just skip clicking Next
- Now reboot your router
[Go to management then reboot] - The router earth icon LED will go green
- After that you can setup the router via set up a new connection wizard
